100km October 2026
Updated: Oct 7

This October, I’m walking 100 kilometres for Rhema Nursery & Primary School in Eastern Uganda.
The goal is to raise funds for a Rainwater Harvesting System and Garden of Learning.
The project will help Rhema to collect and store precious rainwater and develop a productive school garden where children can learn practical skills in growing food, caring for the soil and stewarding God’s creation.
Water; Food; and Learning!
For Rhema, this is about more than installing a water tank or planting vegetables. It is part of the school’s journey towards becoming stronger, more sustainable and increasingly supported by its own community.
A rainwater harvesting system will enable the school to make better use of the rain that falls on its buildings. That water can support the school garden and other appropriate school needs rather than simply being lost.
Alongside this, Rhema wants to develop a Garden of Learning — a practical space where pupils can learn about food growing, soil care, composting, water conservation and good stewardship. Produce from the garden can contribute to the life of the school while children gain skills they can also share with their families and community.
The vision brings together education, practical skills and Christian stewardship. As the garden develops, Rhema hopes it can become a small demonstration of what can be achieved locally with the resources God has provided.
The 100km walk is therefore helping to invest not simply in a project, but in children, knowledge and greater local self-reliance.
Please support the walk and help Rhema turn rain into an opportunity for learning and growth.
Please support the 100km walk and help Rhema take another step towards becoming a more sustainable, community-supported school. Every kilometre counts. Every gift helps.
The first stage is to create a manageable Garden of Learning, while retaining space for children to play. The garden will combine rainwater harvesting, vegetable production, composting, trees, a small nursery and a climate-learning coffee plot.
Initial project subtotal:
Allowing for transport to Eastern Uganda, changing market prices and small unforeseen costs, we propose a Phase 1 fundraising target of approximately £1556 (UGX 8.2 million)
Thank you and God bless you.
